Not many would disagree with the age old aphorism – “Health is Wealth”. But with hectic schedules, especially for IT guys like us, it becomes very difficult to tend to our health. And with the sedentary lifestyle that we have, it becomes all the more important to exercise. There are more ways than one to squeeze in some time to exercise. Here’s my approach of doing it. Read on.

I recently participated in New York Road Runners’ event held in New York City, USA. New York Road Runners is dedicated to promoting the sport of distance running, enhancing health and fitness for all, and responding to community needs. This important annual event raises money for youth fitness programs at the Armory Track and Field Hall of Fame. This money then goes to a charitable organization for a good cause. A sanctioned New York Roadrunners race, The Coogan’s Salsa, Blues & Shamrocks 5K Run is a also celebration of the strong community ties and rich cultural diversity of northern Manhattan. More than 4,000 runners of all ages, including world-class competitors, participate in the race. More than a dozen different musical groups, including gospel, bagpipes, meringue, klesmer, salsa, and brass bands, serenade the runners along the route. I being very cognizant as far as health is concerned, decided to participate in this event and run 5 km. Believe it or not, but i managed to finish this race in 28.50 minutes, something which I never thought of! Further I am participating in races like 5k, 10k and 15k. Any runners friend can join with me during these races.

I wanted to mention this to inspire others and set an example for those, who think they can’t do it. When I being global traveler can find time for exercising from my hectic schedule, why can’t you? Please start planning your day in such a way that you allocate some time for gym, swimming, Table Tennis or any other exercise and do not regret for your health in your old age. We are very soon starting off with events like cricket tournament, Badminton tournaments and TT tournaments in Fulcrum. So, keep playing and stay healthy! Or keep running and shed those extra pounds.

In old ways of selling higher probabilities and number games played an important role. For an eg. If you make 100 calls only 10 prospects will show the interest and 5 will have discussions and 2 will result in opportunities.

In new ways of selling you make 20 calls and 10 prospects will result in discussions and 5 will emerge with qualified opportunities

How to exercise Instinct selling.

If you are convinced you can convince.

Know Clearly what you have to sell and who will need it. Define clearly your value advantage.

Have knowledge of the latest trends and market. Conduct sales calls with consultative approach

Major differentiator can be made by the person who reads multiple magazines/books, joins subject matter groups, and intelligently uses Linked In, Twitter.

Profile prospects through references and understand their thinking process through their blogging and twittering.

Finally – Bundling all your experiences in few words during your calls. This is like when you have diagnosed the patient with disease you need to give capsule to cure them. A capsule can take more than 10 years by a pharma company to create; once this capsule starts giving results millions can be cured.

Once you have this instinct capsule – you can create millions of dollars for yourself and your organization.

Web OS – More for business users, emails/calendaring better than the other two devices but sucks on browsing

The winner is iPhone OS 3.0 – It has mass appeal, lets you connect with thousands of outside applications. Once customized with the right applications, it can replace your laptop.
